This genuine neighborhood in Madrid is named after a historic event that took place during the 16th and 17th century. Some of the most important and influential authors of this period such us Lope de Vega, Góngora, Quevedo, etc… lived here.
Nowadays Barrio de las Letras is one of the most lively and attractive neighborhoods in the city. Plaza de Santa Ana is the epicenter of the night life with an array of bars and lavish terraces. From this square you will find countless streets offering a variety of leisure, restaurants, bars, etc… Among all of them the well-known “Calle Huertas” with decorated pavements of great quotes of Spanish literature.
